Hole 1/10

"The hole needs a good straight drive allowing a long hitter to reach the green in two shots. Out of bounds on the right makes this a more daunting hole for the higher handicap golfer. Even so, three good shots give the player a par or even a birdie opportunity."

Hole 2/11

"Considered by many to be the clubs signature hole, it is played from elevated tees with great views. Bunkers and a dry ditch guard the approach and although the better golfers reach the green with irons, a change in the wind direction make this into a tough challenge for any golfer."

Hole 3/12

"This is a short dogleg right par 4 with out of bounds on the right all the way to the hole. It offers a number of choices for the drive. A long hitter going over the corner or onto the 4th fairway can be rewarded with a clear shot into the pin. For the shorter hitter an old hawthorn tree in the bottom of the valley can make the second shot that bit more difficult."

Hole 4/13

"From the back tee, this is the longest Par 4 on the course reflected in the stroke index. Going uphill, makes the hole play longer than the yardage shows and it is a good second shot that reaches the green. Recent alterations to the green and a new bunker on the right makes for an interesting approach shot to the MacKenzie green."

Hole 5/14

"Here is the favourite hole on the course for many golfers. A choice of tees offer different challenges but all routes to the green require straight shorts as the land falls away to the right, ready to gather a wayward tee shot. A large green with a greenside bunker completes a picturesque hole."

Hole 6/15

"The hole is played from elevated tees and for most handicap players, has to be played through a gap between the oak trees. Players often take irons from the tee, as position is perhaps more important than length. A well placed bunker on the right of the green guards against any approach from that direction."

Hole 7/16

"Here we start the ascent to the clubhouse and although not long at 349 yards from the back tee, it plays longer due to the slope. The hole has not been changed much since it was first laid out, with the exception of mature trees right and left ready to catch an off line shot. Bunkers to the right and left of the green complement a good golfing hole."

Hole 8/17

"The hole is a dog left right, with out of bounds onto the practice ground. A long straight drive gets the player into a good position to play a second shot to the green. For the shorter hitter, a decision has to be made to either risk going over a copse of tall trees, or play the dog leg and reach the green in three shots. The undulating green falls away at the back."

Hole 9/18

"The short par three completes the course and brings the player back to the clubhouse. Never an easy hole due to the prevailing wind, a pond on the left side and a bunker to the right a straight shot hitting the green gets its reward. Playing from the elevated competition tee adds another perspective to this attractive and challenging hole."
